Dietary strategies to enrich milk with healthy fatty acids – A review

Abstract Feed is the main factor impacting composition and quality of milk dairy animals. Therefore, present review explores effects feed nutrition on fat content levels healthy fatty acids (FA) in consumed by humans. Milk products are two sources unhealthy FA human nutrition. The concentrations depend mainly diets; therefore, ratios can be greatly altered some feeding strategies. Dietary supplementation diets livestock with vegetable seeds or oils, microalgae phytogenic additives, grasses enhance contents FA, including n-3 α-linolenic acid, conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) and, generally, unsaturated products. Enrichment may make a source anticarcinogens (CLA polyphenols) for health. This review, focusses current research findings enrichment summarizes effective strategies to alter profile.
